From every angle, each character and the lighting had to look cool. Every hairstyle and piece of clothing had to look cool and different. Read the dialogue... it sounds so natural, like every day talk, and yet you've just never heard words put together that way before. I pretzel'd my brain trying to think of new but natural-sounding ways of saying things. Not just 'Kill him', but instead 'Bowstring the mother'.
I fought each page to give the reader something new, something they hadn't heard or seen before, something unexpected. I'm so proud of my work on these two issues of Icon Devil, probably more so than all my books put together, before or since.
